The Position

The Interaction Designer will conceptualize and design web sites, mobile apps, and web applications that influence and help millions of people every year. You will collaborate with the Creative Director and other team members to design & maintain interactive experiences that improve the lives of our users.

The Interaction Designer will:

  • Conceptualize & create designs for web sites, mobile apps, and web applications that solve our client’s business problems
  • Create wireframes and interactive demos to illustrate the project's concept and requirements
  • Drive the innovative design & user experiences that Arteric delivers
  • Create IAs and site maps based on UX best practices so that users have an intuitive experience
  • Conceptualize & design persuasive visuals such as infographics
  • Help us win new business, by creating thought provoking and innovative presentations
  • Help our clients understand new technologies and user experiences with creative presentations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional team members—account executives, project managers, and developers—in order to complete the projects
  • Work with our QA teams to ensure the integrity & standards of our designs by performing creative reviews of our web sites or apps after development is complete
  • Work side-by-side with developers to introduce new creative ideas
  • Work side-by-side with developers to create master files
  • Prepare PSD files for development teams
  • Create & maintain well-organized design files that increase team efficiencies
  • Photo retouching & production of images
  • You will manage your own work and deadlines
  • You will manage multiple projects
  • Lead and present design & concepts
  • Create time estimates for UX/UI work on each project
  • Stay creatively fresh and will actively seek and inspire by sharing digital inspiration (new practices, new ideas, best practices, etc.)

Required Credentials

  • 2+ years' experience working in interactive design creating web sites, mobile apps, and web applications
  • A strong design foundation with understanding of hierarchy utilizing typography, color theory, and negative space
  • Strong comprehension utilizing grid systems in order to design across multiple devices & platforms
  • You have created inspiring user experiences and have designed interactive applications
  • Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite (specifically Photoshop and Illustrator)
  • Experience working in a digital production environment using some if not all of the following applications (InDesign, Sketch/Macaw, Office, PowerPoint, Google Docs)
  • Experience with production and setting up PSD’s for developers
  • Working knowledge of HTML and CSS- or familiarity with the capabilities and limitations of common web/interactive technologies like HTML, CSS, and Javascript
  • Experience creating digital style guidelines
  • Experience applying brand and identity guidelines for web sites and applications
  • Created wireframes and user flows
  • Experience using wire framing software like Axure, baslamiq®, Omnigraffle
  • Designed and created presentations
  • Obsessive about the visual & user experience details
  • Ability to communicate design rationale to senior management and clients
  • Understanding direction and feedback is part of always improving
  • Willingness to learn and desire to improve
  • Bachelor’s degree in fine arts, graphic design, visual communication design, or related field
  • Must have a portfolio that demonstrates your ability to make decisions in creating responsive web sites and mobile applications
